About This Short

The Sons of Atlanta Vietnam War Monument and Memorial Experience just finished construction in Piedmont Park, making Atlanta no longer the only major U.S. city without a dedicated Vietnam War memorial. The tribute honors 240 local veterans killed in action, with a large sculpture, a ceremonial plaza, and a wall bearing every name. Houston built theirs in the eighties. We finally got here in 2026. What Is the Sons of Atlanta Vietnam War Memorial at Piedmont Park?

The Sons of Atlanta Vietnam War Monument and Memorial Experience is a full-scale tribute located near the northern edge of Piedmont Park in Midtown. It includes a tribute sculpture, a commemorative plaza built for ceremonies and gatherings, and a wall with the names of all 240 Atlanta-area veterans killed in action during the Vietnam War. It is the first dedicated Vietnam War memorial in any major U.S. city to be completed this late, opening in 2026.
