Candler Crossing Breaks Ground in South DeKalb

DeKalb County broke ground on Candler Crossing, a $29 million mixed-use development anchored by a 50,000 square foot Publix at Candler and Glenwood Road. Westminster and Milmar have been waiting for this for years, and Fall 2027 is when it finally arrives.

About This Short

About This Video

In this video, I covered the groundbreaking of Candler Crossing, a $28.9 million mixed-use development anchored by a Publix at Candler Road and Glenwood Road in South DeKalb. This ends years of driving miles out of the way just to get fresh groceries. The development includes an 11,200 square foot retail building, green space, walking trails, and improvements to a nearby MARTA stop, all supported by a $3.82 million grant focused on walkability and transit access. Commissioner Nicole Massiah called it progress and possibility, and I agree.
